University education has become a foundation and pillar of every development. Its role is becoming more and more important at present than before, especially the world's attention is directed to the departments and sections of the integrated educational systems in various countries of the world. Thus, the educational system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the most important educational systems and so it is an integral part of the global system.
The Saudi universities are considered to be academic, scientific, cultural, and social centers that contribute to the formation of an elite equipped with multiple knowledge and different experiences that provide the community leadership in various fields.
However, this top-notch education cannot bring positive changes in a society unless it has proper knowledge and understanding of the society's reality. We live in a modern era that is characterized by the acceleration of knowledge, and scientific revolution with its various cultural and technical applications. Therefore, it has become essential for everyone working in the field of communication to think about what he/she is going to say and has to select words and phrases so that their ideas and opinions are appropriately presented.
Consequently, the Northern Border University, represented by the Deanship of the Preparatory Year, aims at preparing the students and ensuring that they can make distinguished academic achievements, establishing values and principles of discipline, and having a sense of responsibility, through time management. Moreover, it pays attention to the academic courses for better comprehension, understanding, and practicing, to meet the needs of the students and help them to keep pace with the developments of the scientific, practical, skill, technical, and engineering specializations that they want and wish to continue with.
The Deanship of the Preparatory Year at the Northern Border University emphasizes upon effective learning and training by providing modern technical tools, personal care for the scientific development of students at both physical and psychological levels. Furthermore, the Deanship strives to meet all students' requirements; to integrate students into an atmosphere of learning and teamwork in the university's community, to provide creative means and an attractive environment that stimulates creativity and distinction for achieving the desired goals of the educational process.
Besides, it aims to address the gap of knowledge of students applying to the university from secondary and high schools in public education. Thus, the Deanship is concerned to improve performance, rationalize majors and stop wastage by early detection of vulnerabilities and weaknesses that need to be addressed by engaging in academic specialties and helping to raise the level of inputs for scientific colleges. All these efforts are to equip the students of this university with skills that assist them towards excellence and creativity.
